Continuity Lock-Out: Because this game is the most recent title set in another Alternate Universe of other AE games, those numerous little references (coupled with the aforementioned difficulty) of playing the whole story from the beginning can make it difficult to figure out what's going on each week- as well as who some of the people or Non Player Characters you keep encountering were supposed to be (for new players). However regardless of the views about her, nobody approved of the Take That, Scrappy! moment where she is unceremoniously killed off by Malgor at the end of her storyline. Others despise her for replacing the far more popular Drakath, view her stories as a complete unorganized mess, especially the Elemental Titans being an Aborted Arc. Some think of her as a worthy successor to Drakath and that her stories progress in an interesting direction. Base-Breaking Character: The Queen of Monsters.Awesome Music: All of the theme music for the Throne of Darkness Sagas.Noxus is now better known as a skeletal lich which is a farcry from the human necromancer he was back in DragonFable.Few remember or care about when she was a baby in DragonFable. Gravelyn is now the iconic Empress of the Shadowscythe.Drakath is the Big Bad and the mightiest villain of all. Not some dracolich like he was in AdventureQuest, not the Harmless Villain underling of Sepulchure like he was in DragonFable. Thanks to AQW, Drakath is forever ingrained as the Champion of Chaos.Audience-Coloring Adaptation: As the most well-known of the Artix Entertainment games, it is this game's version of characters that became the goto versions. This makes it more so Five-Second Foreshadowing. Technically, Malgor does actually appear during a story recap cutscene in Dreadrock Citadel, but it's rather easy to miss for newer players. Keep in mind that there was no mention or hint of Malgor anywhere beforehand. Then Malgor reveals that it wasn't him who killed her, but the hero who just so happened to forget those events. During the Queen of Monsters saga finale, we see that the Queen has been killed, with the new Big Bad Malgor holding her head in front of the hero.At the end of the Mythsong storyline, Kimberly being the actual Sixth Lord of Chaos came out of nowhere and was hard to predict for people who had not seen the Late-Arrival Spoiler. You can still buy the Necromancer class if you want, but you won't need it to enter the Necropolis whatsoever.
